เกิดวันที่ 5 กันยายน ค.ศ. 1946 อาชีพ นักร้อง, นักแต่งเพลง, นักดนตรี และโปรดิวเซอร์เพลง ค่ายเพลงที่ร่วมงาน Columbia, Polydor, EMI, Parlophone และ Hollywood Records (US & Canada)
Freddie Mercury ชาวอังกฤษ – อินเดีย เป็นผู้ร่วมก่อตั้งวงร็อกที่ชื่อว่า ควีน (Queen) ในฐานะนักร้อง
และในฐานะนักแต่งเพลง เฟรดดี เมอร์คูรี ได้แต่งเพลงฮิตมากมาย เช่น

Freddie Mercury เสียชีวิตจากภาวะหลอดลมใหญ่และปอดอักเสบ อันเกิดจากการติดเชื้อเอชไอวี (เอดส์) เมื่อวันที่ 24 พฤศจิกายน ค.ศ. 1991 เพียงหนึ่งวันหลังจากที่สาธารณชนรับรู้ว่าเขามีโรคร้ายนี้
ในปี 2006 นิตยสารไทม์เอเชีย Time ยกย่องให้ Freddie Mercury เป็นหนึ่งในฮีโรของชาวเอเชียที่มีอิทธิพลมากที่สุดในรอบ 60 ปี และเขายังติดอันดับนักร้องที่ยอดเยี่ยมที่สุดในประวัติศาสตร์เพลงป็อปอีกด้วย ถือว่าเป็นร็อกสตาร์เอเชียชาวอังกฤษคนแรก
ในปี 2008 นิตยสาร โรลลิงสโตน Rolling Stone ได้จัดอันดับให้ Freddie Mercury อยู่อันดับ 18 ของการจัดอันดับ 100 นักร้องที่เยี่ยมที่สุดตลอดกาล

วงควีน Queen เป็นวงดนตรีจากประเทศอังกฤษ มีชื่อเสียงโด่งดังในปี พ.ศ. 2513 ที่กรุงลอนดอน โดยมีสมาชิก ไบรอัน เมย์ , โรเจอร์ เทย์เลอร์ และคนสุดท้ายเฟรดดี้ เมอร์คิวรี่ หรืออีกชื่อ เฟรดดี้ บัลซารา จากวงสไมล์ และวงควีน ก็สมบูรณ์แบบ เมื่อจอห์น ดีคอน ตามเข้ามาเป็นสมาชิกในวงในปีถัดมา
วงควีน Queen เป็นวงดนตรีที่ประสบความสำเร็จสูงสุดบนเกาะอังกฤษถึง “สามทศวรรษ” วงควีนเริ่มโด่งดังในช่วงกลางทศวรรษที่ 1970 และโด่งดังระดับโลก จนมีแฟนเพลงอยู่ทั่วโลกจนถึงปัจจุบัน
เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2534 เฟรดดี้ เมอร์คิวรี Freddie Mercury นักร้องนำของวงควีนได้เสียชีวิตด้วยโรคเอดส์ซึ่งส่งผลให้ผลงานอัลบั้ม Innuendo เป็นอัลบั้มสุดท้ายของ เฟรดดี้ เมอร์คิวรี แต่สมาชิกของวงที่เหลือยังคงทำผลงานเพลงในนามวงควีนอยู่อีกหนึ่งอัลบั้มคือ Made in Heaven โดยใช้เสียงของ เฟรดดี้ เมอร์คิวรี ที่บันทึกไว้ก่อนเสียชีวิต และจากอัลบั้มก่อนๆ และ ปัจจุบัน วงควีน Queen ที่มีสมาชิกเหลือ 2 คน
คือ ไบรอัน เมย์และโรเจอร์ เทย์เลอร์ ซึ่งได้ร่วมกับพอล โรดเจอร์ ออกผลงานใหม่ๆ อีกครั้งหนึ่ง ด้วยจิตใจที่รักเสียงดนตรีอย่างแท้จริง ถึงแม้จะมีอายุมากขึ้นก็ตาม
